
Inspired by this portrait of The Young Saint John the Baptist
The figure was painted in watercolor with reflective gold paint accents onto a super thick, board-like watercolor paper. The background paper was glued onto an 8” x 10” wooden panel, with the portrait and the other circles (cut out of this lush golden, crumpled paper and a softly reflective paper with an embedded design in it) glued on top.
This took about six(?) hours to complete, I think.
