Emerald City Comicon! Aka THE BEST SHOW. I’ll be there all weekend at booth #2615 selling books, prints, stickers, and original art. I have loads of new stuff this year, so please stop by and say hello!
I’m right next to my partner-in-crime Erika Moen and my many fine studiomates from Periscope Studio!
Yesterday was GREAT— I’m running low on my copies of Bucko and sold out of Smut Peddler! Get my books before they’re g-g-g-gone.
Plus, y’know, my panels.
Panel: Strip Search
1:30 – 2:25pm
Hall A (611-614)
Fellow Strip Search contestant Mackenzie Schubert and I will be joined by Mike Krahulik and Jerry Holkins, creators of Penny Arcade, and their business man, Robert Khoo, to talk about our experiences on the first webcomics-based reality TV show and, according to rumor, there may be some advance screenings of stuff and things relating to the series.
Signing at Dark Horse Comics
3 – 3:30pm
Booth 1102
Jeff Parker and I will be signing copies of our book, Bucko!
Panel: Beyond Categories – Non-Binary Sexuality
4 – 5pm
Room 2AB
Moderator Charles “Zan” Christensen, Ellen Forney, Randall Kirby, Leia Weathington, Jason Thompson and I will be talking about the oft-ignored “B” that’s overlooked and outright dismissed by both queers and straights in LGBT. Boy howdy, have I got a thing or ten to say about that.
Oooooooooh dang! It is that time of year again! EMERALD CITY COMIC-CONTIME!
My BFF Dylan Meconis and I will be booth-ing it up again at booth 2615. We’ve co-tabled at every single ECCC, I think.
My table will be spilling over with copies of my books, prints and limited edition screenprints.
And then, of course, there’s the panels and signings. Oh! What glorious signings and panels there shall be!

Last week we announced that Sock Dreams will be vending at Emerald City Comicon! Today we’re announcing a special cross-promotion with our comics crush, Periscope Studio.
Five of their writers and artists have donated freebies for us to spoil you with—but only if you’ll be attending the convention on Friday March 1st. The first three people to show us a photo of themselves with a Periscope Studio artist/writer get books and a gift card!
We will also be debuting an exclusive event sticker you can only get at ECCC.
Wooooo!!!! Come by either Periscope Studio’s island of tables (2621/2627) orDylan Meconis’ and my booth (2615), take a photo with either (or both!) of us, go back to Sock Dreams’ table and SCORE SOME FREE BOOKS!
I’m assuming my name has an asterix by it because my DAR! books are full of adult content ;)
Yesterday was a busy day! Periscope Studio was kind enough to let us come in and take some quick shots for our Emerald City Comicon promotion—and some of their talent also donated books for a to-be-announced giveaway! Keep watching our social media to find out how to win!
Are you coming up to ECCC? Sock Dreams will be vending (with discounted convention prices, and a special collectable sticker!) at table 102, and Periscope Studio will be at space 2621/2627! Stop in and say hello to them, and then come get your socks from us!

GuuuuuuuuuuhASP! It’s my studiomates and me!!
Thank you again, Sock Dreams! I’m wearing my teal socks RIGHT NOW, in fact.
Sock Dreams did a photoshoot at Periscope Studio today!
They’re going to make a poster of us to display at their booth at Seattle’s Emerald City Comic-Con next month :D This was SUPER exciting for us because we’re all GIANT fans of Sock Dreams here in the studio. Thank you for the socks!
Check out my full set of behind-the-scenes pictures!

If you missed our livestreaming session of our Freelancers Roundtable today, Justin.tv will keep this video up for two days!
Don’t worry, there’ll be a podcast version ready sometime soon-ish, I’ll let you know when. It’ll for-suresies go up on Work Made For Hire first!
We are: Katie Lane, Bill Mudron, Dylan Meconis and Erika Moen and we want to tell you about freelancing.
(For the record, I have been battling a terrible cold [baby flu?] this entire week, so when I’m staring off into space and looking totally out of it, it is because my body is killing me and I feel awful)

Are you a journalist who wants to write about comics? Check out this loving, handy primer from the inestimable Dylan Meconis.
“Some of these critics are just jerks who resent that their editor has torn the galley copy of the latest Houellebecq novel out of their hands and replaced it with some stupid book with pictures in it. Pictures. Only Umberto Eco gets to use pictures!
“I can’t help those people. I just feel bad for them, because they’re going to miss out on a lot of wonderful and important books.” —How Not To Write Comics Criticism by Dylan Meconis.
