Special Delivery from Oni Press
Charlie Chu stopped by the studio earlier today to bring us a box of cupcakes courtesy of Oni Press! For no good goddamn reason! Just because they thought we should be stuffing our faces with miniature cupcakes. Which is exactly what we did (Natalie demonstrating in this picture)
Oni Press is swell like that.
Mirror, Mirror on the Wall…
I’m sure there was a more logical way to shoot this but my way was to drape my entire studio in black fabric, wear all black and black gloves, then hide behind a curtain with my camera lens sticking out. Shooting reflections is a pain already, but convex mirrors are crazy. The other odd problem is the distortion the model was seeing and what I was seeing were completely different because I was farther away, so she couldn’t use her reflection as a reference.

I want this to be my Halloween costume this year.
Hey, y’know how I recently posted a bunch of these tentacle photos Visioluxus took of me?
Did you know you can actually buy really high quality prints of them and hang them on your wall? I can verify truthfully that Visioluxus’ prints are even more gorgeous in real life than on your monitor, because I’ve bought quite a handful of her various photos for my house over the years. This octopus series in particular really has these great metallic tints that show up in print.
Anyway, I just wanted to, y’know, throw that out there. In case any of you perverts have an extra $10 and wanted to support an immensely talented photographer. Or just wanted to have my sweet ass on your wall. Those reasons don’t have to be mutually exclusive, there really is no wrong reason.
I just had to re-post this the right way, it’s going around on a fairly popular thread but for some reason it’s sideways, and it’s making me nuts. Here is how it was actually shot.
This one time Visioluxus wrapped me up in octopus tentacles and took pictures while perched high up on a ladder. It is my most favorite photoshoot I’ve ever done in my life.
