Here is the interview Stumptown Comics Fest director, Kaebel Hashitani, and I had with Stephanie Stricklen on KGW’s The Square yesterday evening!
Not only is the Stumptown Comics Fest happening NEXT weekend in Portland (April 27-28), but I’m ALSO a Special Guest AND my work is up for several of their awards!
Today is the final day for voting and you can find my work on the ballot under Best Anthology for both “No Straight Lines” and “Smut Peddler” as well as in the Best Publication Design for Allyson Haller’s work putting together “Bucko”, my graphic novel with Jeff Parker.
VOTE HERE! (Today, Friday the 19th, ONLY)

There was absolutely no warning, just suddenly it was hailing like a motherfucker. And then it stopped just as suddenly.
Beloved indie bookshop Reading Frenzy only has 11 days left to raise 25k to re-open their doors, without this cash they will be closed forever after 18 excellent years of catering to and helping cultivate both the creators and lovers of Portland’s independent books, zines and minicomics.
They were one of the very first stores in Oregon to carry my wee little minicomics when I began visiting from Seattle during my high school years.
I’ve pledged, I hope you do too.
March 20th, Day 79/365
Biking home after work, the sun was perfect on the Eastbank Esplanade.
March 11, Day 70/365
Getting a sip of water on the Eastbank Esplanade while I waited for the bridge to be lowered so I could finish biking to Periscope Studio.

The swing is being supported by two sets of phone books with interlaced pages— no glue! Just the sheer strength the friction generated by the pages pressing against each other fully supports Matt’s and my weight. You can see the phone book friction science explained here by the Mythbusters.
