Top Tweet: “In addition to pregnancy from rape, other acts that are a gift from god and should not be treated: broken bones, burst appendix, cancer” -October 24
Bottom Tweet: “If you’re going to be in accordance with God’s plan for you, cease receiving any medical aid IMMEDIATELY” -October 24
Context: Senate candidate Richard Mourdock is the most recent Republican to publicly share his beliefs that rape and any pregnancy produced by it are God’s will.
“I struggled with it myself for a long time but I came to realize, life is a gift from god and even if life begins in the horrible situation of rape it is something god intended to happen.”
Just like how if a man has his bones broken in an assault, he shouldn’t have a doctor fix him up because it was God’s will that his arms be broken! Or if he gets cancer— GOD’S WILL, DO NOT SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION.

A while ago, Brendan Adkins did this ingenious creative writing project on his Twitter account called #IsawU, in which he wrote out fake personals ads that doubled as 140 character short stories.
I was so delighted by them that I wheedled him into letting me turn them into an illustrated 16 page mini-comic! And by mini, I do mean mini. 2.75″ x 4.25″, to be exact!
You can get a copy this weekend at Table B-8 during the Stumptown Comics Fest!
